Advanced capabilities, compassionate caregivers — close to home

For most diagnoses, we offer an effective and convenient local alternative to larger, city hospitals for residents of Sonora and the entire Sierra Foothills region, including Angels Camp, Arnold and Jackson — and all of Tuolumne, Calaveras and Amador counties.

Because of the private nature of these areas of the body, people are often embarrassed or hesitant to seek help for urological problems. Waiting, however, can allow easily treatable conditions to get much worse — and in some cases, to become life-threatening. That’s why it’s important to see your primary care provider as soon as symptoms occur. Your provider can refer you to a urologist at Adventist Health Sonora.

Our urology experts help make life less stressful

Our board-certified urology specialists are committed to treating your health concern with personalized, compassionate care in a comfortable and private setting. You can rest assured that anything you share with your urologist and other medical professionals will be held in the strictest confidence.

Additional Information

Urology surgery services

Many urologic health issues can be treated with medication or other non-surgical means. Our urology specialists take a conservative approach to treatment and will first try all appropriate non-surgical options to resolve your health concern.

At times, however, surgery is the best way to provide relief and healing. In those cases, your urologist and other health professionals will carefully and thoroughly explain the recommended surgical procedure and will take time to answer all your questions.

Your physician will also evaluate your urologic issue, your health status, the particular procedure to be performed and other factors to determine if you might qualify for minimally invasive surgery, such as laparoscopy or robotic surgery. Minimally invasive surgery typically offers a variety of benefits for the patient, including less pain, a shorter hospital stay and quicker recovery.

We offer a variety of urologic surgery procedures, including:

  • Cancer surgery — including prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, adrenal and ureter cancer
  • Procedures to treat benign (non-cancerous) prostatic hyperplasia — including transurethral resection of the prostate, laser vaporization, Urolift and Rezum
  • Ureteroscopy, shock-wave lithotripsy and percutaneous surgery for kidney stones
  • And other procedures

Non-surgical urology services

Whenever possible, your urologist will choose a non-surgical approach to treat your disease or condition. Depending on your diagnosis, your doctor may recommend one or more of the following treatments:

  • Cystoscopy
  • Prostate biopsy
  • SpaceOAR
  • Urocuff
  • Urodynamics studies
  • Vasectomy
